A diplomate of both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology, Paula Nelson, MD, has received several scholarships and awards over the course of her career as a medical student and dermatologist. Among others, she received an award from the British Association of Dermatologists as well as a scholarship award from the Women’s Dermatologic Society. Furthermore, she earned the Dr. Charles Drew Leadership and Service Award while completing her medical training as well as the Dr. Helen O. Dickens Award.
In addition to treating patients, Paula Nelson, MD, has completed dermatologic research in conjunction with a variety of major medical institutions including the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, the City College of New York, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where she received her doctor of medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys pursuing hobbies such as yoga and cooking vegan cuisine. She also remains active by participating in half-marathons.
